SUSTAINED DIALOGUE

The Sustained Dialogue program is a new initiative of WISCOMP’s which seeks to create numerous safe public spaces to address and improve relationships across divided or tense lines in India. WISCOMP has created a community service package to offer Sustained Dialogue workshops as a service to the larger Delhi community. WISCOMP consultant Priya Parker will conduct a series of tailored workshops and trainings for interested community members and students to proactively address issues of importance in schools, universities and communities.

Sustained Dialogue is a conflict transformation approach created by Dr. Harold Saunders to improve relationships, reduce prejudice and misperceptions, and improve group relations and communication that leads to individual, group and community change. Sustained Dialogue has been used to improve race relations on college campuses in the US, issues of youth violence in Zimbabwe, reconciliation in South Africa, and peace-building in Tajikistan, the Middle East and the Northern Trans-Caucuses. Priya Parker is a conflict transformation and dialogue trainer, facilitator, speaker and writer. She has conducted workshops on Sustained Dialogue in over 20 university and high school campuses in the US, as well as in American communities, in India, South Africa, and Zambia, and is currently working with an Arab-American-European Sustained Dialogue. She was a founding-member of the US-based Sustained Dialogue Campus Network and is currently a Sustained Dialogue Consultant for WISCOMP (Women in Security Conflict Management and Peace) based in New Delhi, India.
